DANILLO “Indio” VILLEFORT

An experienced fighter who has been fighting professionally since 2005, well-rounded submission specialist Danillo Villefort is a welcome addition to the Shine welterweight division. Also known for his devastating knees from the clinch, “Indio” is a tough matchup for anybody in the world.

A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo black belt who co-owns and works as the head trainer at the American Top Team affiliate gym in Doral, Florida, Villefort currently holds a professional record of 10-3, with nine of those wins come by way of stoppage. Villefort possesses a solid resume, which includes wins over IFL veteran and current UFC middleweight Mike Massenzio, as well as WEC veteran Mike Campbell. In addition, “Indio” faced Jesse Lennox in his lone UFC outing.

Villefort is the son of legendary Vale Tudo competitor Francisco “Master Indio” Silva (who he honors by shooting an imaginary bow after his victories), and the godson of former UFC and PRIDE heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. He is, simply put, one of the top prospects in the 170-pound division.

“Indio” enters Shine coming off of a win over John Bryant in October of ‘09, and has won six of his last seven fights dating to 2007.
