ALEXANDRE “Cacareco” FERREIRA
Standing just 5’7” tall and weighing in at 185 pounds, Rio de Janeiro native Alexandre “Cacareco” Ferreira rarely has a size advantage in a fight. Despite being slight of stature, the member of the newly created Renovacao Fight Team has never been one to dodge competition.
A world-class wrestler and Brazilian jiu-jitsu player, “Cacareco” is one of the most respected fighters on the planet. Sporting an impressive record of 18-7 with 17 wins coming by way of submission, the Jungle Fight, IFL, and Rings veteran has faced some of the best that the sport has to offer. Having stepped in with the likes of UFC fighter Chris Haseman, and holding victories over the likes of UFC/Pride veteran Heath Herring, Pride veteran “Dirty” Bob Schrijber, MMA veteran Shannon Ritch, UFC veterans Moti Horenstein and Branden Lee Hinkle, Team Black House member Fabio Maldonado, and IFL veteran Lew Polley, the 12-year veteran is a certified star.
Even more impressive, however, is the slick jiu-jitsu master’s recent string of victories. “Cacareco” has reeled off seven consecutive first-round submission victories, with just one going past the two-minute mark. The victories include Rodrigo Gripp de Sousa (4 minutes, 50 seconds), Hinkle (37 seconds), Rafael Monteiro (1 minute, 20 seconds), Maldonado (27 seconds), Polley (20 seconds),Vagner Curio (16 seconds), and Walter Mazurkievicz (1 minute, 10 seconds). The total time that Ferreira has spent in the ring in his last seven fights: nine minutes. “Cacareco” now brings his brand of submission expertise to the Shine cage.
